Seattle Sounders FC

Congratulations to Tom Dutra, Blackhills FC Goalkeeper Coach, as he has been hired by Seattle Sounders FC as their Goalkeeper Coach.  We wish Tom every success as he coaches in Major League Soccer.

Inclement Weather Policy

  • If you believe it is unsafe for you to travel to practice due to road/weather conditions in your area, please stay home.
  • If Olympia School District school is cancelled, or after school sports are cancelled, then Blackhills FC practice is cancelled.
  • If there is snow/ice on the field, even if school may be open, the field would be deemed unplayable and practice cancelled.  (This is by its nature an hour-by-hour decision and requires last minute checking of the club website.)
  • Your team manager will be given information to distribute regarding practice cancellations.  But due to vacations, internet provider outages, computer glitches and other factors you should also check the club website if you have any questions.

Washington Youth Soccer Remembers Frank Hall

Frank Hall, a great servant of the game in Washington, recently passed away. Frank, a hall of fame recipient, was a larger than life figure in youth soccer for more than forty years, having been one of the early organizers of youth soccer in the state. He had an extraordinary commitment to youth soccer, both as an administrator and as a coach. He earned the respect and appreciation of thousands of families through several generations in Washington for his steadfast commitment to the game and, in particular, the players who made it possible. Frank has battled cancer for the past few years and was still helping to coach two young teams until earlier this month.

Frank Hall asked that there be no memorial service; however in true Frank Hall style he did agree that his many friends could celebrate his life. This will be held on Tuesday December 16th at Columbia Hall, 6794 Martin Way, Lacey, beginning at 1pm.  Beverages, food, including ice cream (Franks' treat for the kids) will be available.  All are welcome to pay tribute to one of Youth Soccer's greatest characters, supporters and influencers.
